JulGod’s love is meteoric, his loyalty astronomic, his purpose titanic, his verdicts oceanic. Yet in his largeness nothing gets lost; not a man, not a mouse, slips through the cracks. -Psalm 36:5-6

JunI just realized that this guy is, Mr. Gerry Alanguilan. A legendary Filipino artist behind some of the most amazing Philippine Comics. With a brilliantly creative mind he prefers to be a storyteller through the creation of comic books. A man with some seriously amazing inking skills.

MayThe inseperable relationship between Asians and rice…

Haha! Its sometimes so
annoyingstereotypical for us Asians when we are described as “rice eaters.” Even in history, rice has ALWAYS been our staple food. For us Filipinos, rice has been the subject of myths, often thought of as a gift from the gods. There is a myth that rice was made from a goddess’s milk, or that a hero went to the heavens, and brought rice down to the world. But whatever the myths are, rice had always had an inseperable relationship between Asians, Filipinos, and their ulam*.
Rice is usually eaten with ulam, like adobo, tinola, kare-kare, etc. Sometimes, we eat rice with chocolate, like tsamporado. We also have Filipino porridge, called lugaw. We have rice cakes, called suman. Some people eat their fruits with rice.
Rice, rice, rice. Rice for breakfast, rice for lunch, rice for dinner, rice for dessert!
We are so Asian.
but not all eat rice.*ulam - main dish eaten with rice.

MayGuard your heart. Don’t give your heart away to anyone until the Lord makes it absolutely clear. Ask the Lord to give you someone who loves Jesus more than you, who is stronger and deeper and more committed to the faith than anyone you can possibly imagine.

AprFilipino Movies…some time before.
I wish they would make films like these again:

Magnifico, Milan, Mila. I just missed the Philippine movies not being crappy as it appear to be now, those were the days that they really make good films. Drama movies show real drama, they were able to touch and make the audiences cry. Even our horror movies were made with such creativity that they could scare the hell out of us. Remember the old Shake, Rattle, and Roll movies?

Undin. I’m sure you’ve heard of this creature from Shake, Rattle, & Roll. This SR&R movie is funny yet terrifying starring actors like Joey Marquez, Manilyn Reynes, and Ai Ai de las Alas.
How about you? Any classic pinoy movies you miss?
